Better to write this, I thought, than go on whingeing about the things I always seem to be whingeing about- ie. my mother, the weather, the Buffy comics, my writers' block. Sorry. Haven't got off to a very good start but will try to be less whingey this year from now on.

It may or may not have escaped your notice, but I wrote very little in 2010. This was mainly due to RL reasons, though there was fandom-related stuff too. Possibly, the fandom-related stuff wouldn't have affected me as much if the RL stuff had left me more time to write. Don't know.

Anyway, much of the fic I did write was for communities. The fic that wasn't tended towards the wildly kinky and unpleasant and is posted on my other LJ, which is friends only.

January and February:

Wrote buggerall. Did post one story to my other LJ, Surprise Visit, Spike/Giles NC17, but I'd written it in December 2009 for [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003's Christmas present.

March 2010

I started writing a sequel to my Sense Less series from 2009. This consists of a sequence of short(ish) fics, about 15 in all, which I finally finished in October. They're posted to my other LJ, are very, very NC17 and feature all kinds of unpleasantness. That said, there are some dark places (though not everyone would see them as dark places) I never go to, and never will.

Mercy Killing, Darla/OC, NC17. There's no link to this ficlet because I've never posted it, for fear of causing offence. A shame, because I think it's quite good. However, if I did post it and there were some kind of hoohah! as a consequence, I know I couldn't handle the fallout so best not go there.

Sorry if that seems like teasing. I'm hoping to make amends with a series of short Darla ficlets this year. They're still germinating, but hopefully something will come of it.

April and May

Still writing Sense Less behind the scenes. Otherwise wrote bugger all.

June (one of my two best writing months in 2010).

Private Tuition Spike/Mystery Other NC17. A porny little ficlet posted on my other LJ.

Marriage of Convenience, Spike/Buffy, Giles, Willow PG-13, written for [livejournal.com profile] quinara's community [livejournal.com profile] plot_wout_porn, though there's not a lot of plot in it. More like plotting.

July

I wrote bugger all, except possibly more Sense Less

August

In August I did the one fic writing thing I'm really proud of in 2010, which is to co-found (in the sense of, I thought of the title and left much cleverer, more dynamic people to do the actual work) [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends, a community for the posting of short (1000 words or under) Spike/Buffy fics. It's still going strong, and though there are some weeks with no posts, I think it's humming along nicely and am in awe of [livejournal.com profile] bogwitch's ability to come up with great prompts. The bizarre thing about it all is that I'm not even a proper Spuffy 'shipper.

Be that as it may, I found the community very inspiring and managed to turn out three whole ficlets in August, prequels to my [livejournal.com profile] plot_wout_porn story, which has spawned its own AU 'verse, the Wedding From Hellverse

Mother of the Bride, PG-13, Spike/Buffy, mention of Spike/Dru. Joyce's POV.

It Never Showers But It Pours, PG-13, Spike/Buffy, mention of Spike/Dru, Spike/Harmony. Willow's POV.

Bachelor Party, PG-13, Spike/Buffy. Xander's POV.

Conversation With a Mummy (in-Law) R, for suggestive naughtiness. Spike/Buffy, Joyce.

November

I posted my entry for [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy, which was yet another Wedding From Hellverse fic, this time the actual wedding.

Killer Brides From Hell, PG-13 for a bit of bad language, Spike/Buffy, mention of Spike/Dru.

I also wrote another tiny ficlet (I'd thought it was a drabble, but it's 150 words, not 100) for [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends

Carve Her Name PG, Spike/Buffy.

December

[livejournal.com profile] noel_of_spike ran for two weeks at the end of the month, and I wrote another Fairy!Spike ficlet for it. Nice to see the little rascal again - or at least I thought so.

The Christmas Tree Fairy

And that's it. My list of fics written hasn't been so short since I started writing fic. It also hasn't consisted so much of Spuffy fics. Odd. Odd also that the Spuffy is all extremely fluffy, except for that last almost-drabble, and the non-Spuffy (except for the Fairy!Spike thing) quite the opposite. Make of that what you will.

Heh, well, you're still doing better than me! I managed a whopping TWO fics this year (five if you count the three early fics I revised). I thought about doing the "what I wrote" meme, just to remind people I still exist, but it didn't even seem worth it.

Well, see, the thing is that what there is, is choice! (Choice in the sense of a choice cut of meat.) So, go you! Thanks for putting it all in one place. I'm always worried that I'll miss something.

Nah, I was following the prompts there at first, but I've pretty much called it quits on writing. All good things must come to an end, right?

I missed some of these, must catch up.

Neither am I (though much more than you). And I'm half in two other fandoms.

Me too! But efforts to find a new fandom thus far have been unsuccessful. I've managed to talk about a lot of TV shows, but writing fic requires a special something.

I am not a Spuffy person at all, I am Spangel/us and Fanged Four stuff (or Giles/Spike, or Wes/Spike) all the way, but I read and like your Spuffy. So feel proud, very proud! ;>

You feel you've not written much, but if you look back, you have actually written a lot, and it's all excellent, too. I don't think I wrote any fics for public consumption at all in 2010. I have been doing writing though, and hope to post a very long WIP this year. Except you will probably hate it, cos it's all about Spike getting a new and juvenile wardrobe back in 1881.

I am also off-and-on writing a really not-worthwhile fic about modern-Spike getting babysat by his Great-Uncle Rupert. It may never be posted cos it's, well, embarrassing as well as very silly.

I hope you will consider posting your Darla/OC ficlet someday! I love Darla and almost nobody writes her. More Darla-centric stuff in 2011 sounds brilliant!

Does this mean I'm the most Spuffy of the [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends crew?? Bizarre. (Although, I suppose I am quite Spuffy, so it's a fair cop.)

Well done on all the writing, Shapes!

I've had a story planned for *months* that will require research. It'll be interesting research, but somehow I just haven't managed to do it yet.

I spend a lot of time on Supernatural and I'm drifting into The Vampire Diaries. Buffy is just where my friends are.

Undoubtedly. My Spuffy interest is more in them not getting together, I like the angst and the wrongness of it all. I just liked Spike and Spike wanted Buffy.

What era? I did some research on Victorian costumes for Memento and could point you to some sites for that, if that's what you're looking for.
