It's my posting day today on [livejournal.com profile] rekindlespangel. All I have to offer is:

Buffy Season 8: the Awful Truth

Pairing: Spike/Angel, mention of Buffy/Angel
Rating: PG.
Setting: Vaguely in the Buffy Comics 'Verse.
1600 words of sheer stupidity almost up to Buffy Season 8 standards.
shapinglight: (Christmas)
It's my [livejournal.com profile] noel_of_spike posting day, and I have (as seems to happen every other year) fallen back on an old staple The Santa Claus Chronicles. This time, it's the prequel. Even so, some references in the story will work better if you've read the other stories in the sequence first (none of them are very long, I promise), or at least if you bear in mind that the Buffyverse Santa (as described by Anya) is not a nice fellow at all.

Setting: London, a snowy Christmas Eve, 1882.
Pairings: Spike/Drusilla, mention of Angelus/Darla
Rating: PG-13
Beta: Beta'd by [livejournal.com profile] dwyld, to whom many thanks.

So, here it is - the final story in my Spike/Giles season 7 series (which is still searching for an overall title. I thought of Secondary Theatre - as in, theatre of war, Sunnydale being the primary theatre of the war against the First in season 7. But if you google 'secondary theatre' (or indeed 'theater') you just get links to secondary school theatre programs. So perhaps not?).

Anyway, this may not be what some of you were expecting as the end of this series, but it is the way I always imagined it ending. And it is a series. There are many references in this story to what has gone before, for which see here for previous stories in the series. I'll put up a link to the series on Ao3 when I've posted it there (which won't be till after I have an overall title. Sigh!)

Setting: Charles Robson's flat, London. The evening of the same day of the previous story, Secrets.
Rating: PG-13/R-ish (mainly for swearing and mention of attempted rape).
Pairings: Spike/Giles. Mention of Spike/Buffy.
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] dwyld read it through for me. All mistakes are mine, of course.
Author's Note: That's it! No more WIPs.

Been saying I was going to post this for ages, so I thought I would just get on and do it.

Here is the penultimate story in my long-running (since 2008) Spike/Giles series set in early BtVS season 7. It's also my entry for [community profile] letsgetitdone. There is one more story in the series to go, but that's also completed in draft. It just needs beta'ing (and possibly completely re-writing, but we'll see). If I can't post that to [community profile] letsgetitdone too, I will be posting it before Christmas. No more WIP! Yay!

Setting: London, BtVS season 7, some time before Bring on the Night.
Rating: PG/R, for some violence and swearing.
Pairing: None as such in this part, though some Spike/Giles UST.
Beta: Beta'ed by [personal profile] hello_spikey, to whom many thanks.
Author's Note: This story carries on immediately from where the last part left off. And as it's over a year since I posted the last part, I suspect most people will have forgotten what happened in it. If you want to refresh your memory (might be advisable), previous stories can be found here. As previously explained, when writing Molly the potential Slayer, I just could not bring myself to write her as that horrible Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins' granddaughter type character so I just made up a different character with the same name.

I posted my [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy story last night (very late last night UK time). Yes, the title is terrible, but I couldn't think of anything else.

Setting: Place-wise, London. Timewise, bit indeterminate, actually. The first five chapters were written for [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends prompts back in July, the first of which was What if Giles got in contact with Spike on Buffy's behalf ten years on. However, I got confused and forgot that ten years after Chosen is...well, now. So there are some things that might seem puzzling, like Buffy wearing shoes designed not by Jimmie Choo, but by his daughter Emily etc.

Ignores Buffy comics continuity, which is really all you can do, isn't it?
Pairing: Spike/Buffy (weirdly enough), mention of Buffy/Angel and some Spike/Angel prickly bromance-y type stuff. Also, Willow/Kennedy.
Rating: PG13/R (mostly for swear words).
Unbeta'd.
31,000 words(ish)

The King and She on LJ.

On Ao3
shapinglight: (Spike & Darla)
My entry for the [livejournal.com profile] nekid_spike Halloween Nekid Numbers challenge.

My prompts were: Spike with Darla or Lindsey, pumpkins, Halloween party, prostitution.

I fail completely at Halloween party, but a fail-y fic is better than no fic, right?

Setting: BtVS season 5/AtS season 2, before Into the Woods (BtVS) and between Darla and The Trial, AtS.
Rating: R, for some sexual suggestiveness and swearing
Pairing: Spike/Darla (clearly, you knew I wasn't going to write Spike/Lindsey, right?)
1000 words.

I think I must be on a roll (a very small one, probably a chocolate mini roll) fic-writing wise this week, because not only did I post something to [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends yesterday, but on the way into work this morning, I thought of another ficlet for my series of short fics from last year about minor vampire characters, Being a Vampire Sucks.

This time, it's Holden Webster from Conversations With Dead People. [livejournal.com profile] rebcake always said he should be next in line, but I held off because I couldn't see him as a minor vamp. But then I thought, he's only in one episode, and I've done a ficlet about Dalton, who was in several (three at least), so yes, Holden's a minor vamp, no matter how memorable.

Setting: During CWDP
Rating: PG-13
400 words.

It's my [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles posting day today. My contribution linked below.

Setting: London, post-series
Rating: PG-13/shading on R for use of a naughty word, and implicit m/m sex.
Pairing: Giles/Ethan
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] dwyld read it through for me.
1500 words.
Charity begins at home.

The Last Watcher

Okay, this is a big ask, I know, but I've done all the editing I plan to do on Brief Encounter, and I'm posting the edited version here.

The original version is here, if anyone wants to compare and contrast. If anyone does do so, they'll see that I haven't really changed very much. It's still not my current style. I just want an opinion as to whether I've actually improved it, or not, because I just don't trust my own judgement these days.

When/if anyone has the time.

Setting: Waterloo Station, London, January 1947.
Pairing: Spike/Darla, mention of Spike/Drusilla, Angelus/Darla
Rating: NC17
Author's note: In Why We Fight, Spike had no idea that Angel had a soul, yet when they met again in Sunnydale in School Hard he was suspicious of him right from the start. Someone has to have told him.
Period detail courtesy of my mum. Thanks, Mum. All mistakes are, of course, mine.

Just posted my [livejournal.com profile] rekindlespangel fic.

Setting: A very long time post-NFA
Rating: R, mostly for a lot of bad language
Pairings: Spike/Angel, mention of Angel/Buffy and Spike/Illyria
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] dwyld read it through for me, but is in no way responsible for its considerable faults.
Disclaimer: Not for profit, don't sue, etc.
A bit of an oddity, and pretty much in medias res, but I hope it won't be too difficult to follow.

The Man Who Fell To Earth.
shapinglight: (Snow fox)
[livejournal.com profile] noel_of_spike opens today. Link below to my entry for the comm.

Setting: Mid-BtVS season 5, after Into the Woods but before Crush.
Rating: PG-13.
Pairings: Mention of all Spike's canon pairings, but principally Spike/Harmony.
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] dwyld read it through for me.
Disclaimer: Not for profit, no money, don't sue etc.
Author's note: This is my umpteenth attempt to write a Christmas fic loosely based on Dickens' A Christmas Carol. All previous attempts have gone horribly wrong. I hope this one will just about do.

No Time Like the Present

It's my [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy posting day today, and, as usual, I've just gone with the theme of the round, which is Time After Time.

Setting: Between BtVS seasons 5 and 6
Rating: PG-13/R (for a couple of bad words and a vague suggestion of m/m slashiness)
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] dwyld read it through for me.
Disclaimer: Not for profit, don't sue, no money

A Hundred and Forty Seven Nights To Save Your Lover
shapinglight: (Giles)
Here's my entry for [community profile] letsgetitdone. I still think it's awful, but really, another day isn't going to make it any better.

I originally started this for [community profile] summer_of_giles on LJ, but a bad attack of writers block kept me from finishing it. Here it is at last.

Setting: somewhere on the coast road between Malibu and Santa Barbara Sunnydale, pre-BtVS season 1.
Pairings: none as such, mention of Darla/Angelus
Rating: PG-13
Beta: Many thanks to both [personal profile] dwyld and [personal profile] rebcake.
Disclaimer: No copyright infringement intended, not for profit, no money, don't sue.

Here's my fic for the [livejournal.com profile] nekid_spike Nekid Numbers Halloween challenge. On time this time, unlike last year.

Setting: A Neverneverland BtVS Season 4 (-ish, it's certainly not the same Halloween as the one in Fear Itself)
Pairing: Spike/Giles
Rating: PG13/R (-ish, and only if you consider mere mention of m/m sex rates R).
My Nekid Numbers prompts were: Spike paired with Giles or Darla, object: pumpkin, location: under full moon, kink: hurt~comfort
1700 words of sheer silliness

Here at last is the penultimate (I hope) part of my ongoing (since 2008) Spike/Giles re-telling season 7 series. If last time is anything to go by, there are about three people still interested in this story, but I've started it, so I'll finish it.

For anyone who hasn't read the previous parts, or wants to refresh their memories, they can be found
here

Setting: The Watchers' Council Headquarters, London, in BtVS season 7 (around the time of Selfless/Him I suppose, events of which have taken place without Spike's participation).
Rating: PG-13 to R, for a bit of bad language
Pairings: none as such, this part.
