Went to see The Last Jedi last night.

Really enjoyed it.

Slight spoilers behind cut.

[profile] sueworld2003 pointed me in the direction of this. Possibly, those of you who take an interest have already watched it? Anyway, I thought it was hilarious.

Very spoilery, though. So if you haven't seen the movie yet and want to, maybe give it a miss.

I just watched the first episode of JM's new series, Runaways. I'm quite impressed. Enjoyed it way more than what I've seen of The Gifted so far.

I don't get to the cinema much as a rule (not sure if I'd been at all this year until I went to see Bladerunner: 2049), but in the last week, I've been twice more, once with M (Paddington 2) and once with K (Thor: Ragnarok). Paddington 2 was charming from beginning to end - better than 1, I think. Hugh Grant was fabulous as the villain. Didn't know he had it in him.

And Thor: Ragnarok was...charming too. In its own way. I loved it.

Spoilers behind cut. Nothing at all profound.

Okay, so probably most of you have seen this, but I hadn't. Until today, when, for some reason, my local cinema had a one-off showing of it in the early evening.

Blown away all over again, not least by my own nerdiness about this film.

Spoilers behind cut.

shapinglight: (Ninth Legion)
Last of the Ninth Legion-related movies, about which all I can say is, don't watch it unless you're really in the mood for one of those movies that turns your brain to mush.

Or if you have a cold or flu and your brain is already mush.

The Eagle

shapinglight: (Ninth Legion)
S is away for a few days and I have (completely on a whim) decided to plough my way through all the movies dealing with the supposed destruction of the Roman Ninth Legion in the wilds of Caledonia. There are only three of them, so it won't take long.

Should have done my research a bit better before I started, I suppose, because I'm probably going to end up watching them in reverse order of when they were made.

So today, I watched The Eagle.
