Last night's Being Human (ep7)
Mar. 7th, 2011 12:05 pmI just watched it this morning, as last night I couldn't tear myself away from Prof Brian Cox managing to make the heat death of the universe sound - well, not as bad as all that.
Anyway, seen the ep now and boy-oh-boy!
Spoilers behind cut
That was a powerful episode. I ended up feeling sorry for everyone - even for Herrick a bit. I think it says a lot about Aiden Turner as an actor that the last two episodes have revealed his character as a cowardly, emotionally manipulative, selfish git (not that we didn't know that already), and yet we (or at least I) can still feel some sympathy for him, while wanting to tell Annie to run far away from him and never look back. Not that she will. Whatever else Mitchell may have done, he did go to purgatory to fetch her back, so there's no way she'll abandon him now (though personally I still can't quite believe that he loves her as more than a friend - the spark isn't there, because he's so incredibly inward looking and selfish).
And clever Herrick. Looks like he's made himself a bunch of very useful minions.
Also, wasn't Robson Greene terrific as McNair?

Date: 2011-03-07 01:33 pm (UTC)I think there've been hints of Annie/Mitchell right from the start, but they weren't bigger hints than Annie/George, or for that matter George/Mitchell, so yeah, the romantic element of it seems a bit out of the blue to me too.

the surprise vampire investigator guy was a surprise, even though in hindsight it shouldn't have been.
can't wait for the finale! loved that george is torn between his pregnant girlfriend and needing to protect mitchell.

Yes, BH is very good at dredging humour out of very dark places. And I wonder if George will still want to protect Mitchell when he finds out what he's done (not to mention Herrick will probably tell him Mtichell stabbed Nina).

Date: 2011-03-08 05:29 pm (UTC)for a while i disliked mitchell, but now that he's squirming on his own hook and threatening to bring the whole supernatural world down with him, i like him better.
i especially like the idea that perhaps it'll be george who kills him.
