Not a lot about the recent riots strikes me as funny, but this did - seen on Yahoo!News.

Fitzroy Thomas, a 43-year-old organic chef, was accused with his brother Ronald, 47, of smashing up a branch of the Nando's chicken restaurant chain in Clapham, south London, the Times reported.

Presumably a protest against the fast food culture?

*tuts* Now, smashing up Nando's is really beyond the pale...

I imagine a few people took advantage of the chaos to take action against their enemies.

My older daughter thinks Nandos is a fabulous place to eat. I'm more on the side of Fitzroy and Ronald myself. *g*

:O Nando's is a fabulous place to eat! Especially when you've filled up your loyalty stamps and get a Free Whole Chicken. And when you mix the Coke and the Fanta together in the glass!

It's possible I have an irrational love of Nando's.

*needs a Nando's icon*

I think my initial impression was coloured by my first experience being in Solihull on a very busy Saturday. A much less busy Cardiff Nandos was a great deal better, and I do like the food, though probably not enough to get a full loyalty card.

And when you mix the Coke and the Fanta together in the glass!
Child!! *g*

They do vary in terms of getting the staff levels/turnaround right, but I could eat the food all day! And always smile at the menus done in the style of the various artists. (I think the love also comes from the fact that the UK part of the chain, I think, started near where I live, but it used to be very rare to find one in a town centre. Even though they're everywhere now, I still get a slight 'ooh, there's a Nando's!' feeling whenever I see one.)

Child!! *g*

It's tasty!!
