True Blood season 4 ep 10

Shouldn't be updating LJ at work, but there's so much actual work to do that there's nothing to be done about it except ignore it, so here's a quick review of the latest episode of True Blood.

Hmm, that didn't work out quite how I imagined. Eric has his memory back, but he remembers everything and is still - to Pam's disgust - in love with Sookie. Meanwhile, she - as per her threesome dream - claims to be in love with both Bill and Eric (cue much glaring). But is she? Eric may claim that Woobie!Eric is still in there, Sookie may even be able to see him, but if she doesn't love the part of Eric that isn't Woobie!Eric, how can she be said to love him? Oh, I don't know. Anyway, I still fully expect him to do something before the season ends that will put him beyod the pale again (I hope it's not kill Tara) and return us to the Bill/Sookie status quo.

If that doesn't happen, though, I can happily live with Sookie being in love with both of them, if only because it gives me more in the way of fun Bill/Eric interaction. I had an icon somewhere. Must upload it again.

I suppose the other big thing in this ep was Tommy dying. We're probably meant to be terribly sad about this, but I'm afraid my only reaction to Tommy's death scene was a muttered, "Die, you blighter! Die!" and a muted cheer. What a waste of Sam's storyline, about which I still don't really care, but hope to again now Tommy and the rest of the awful Mickenses have shuffled off the scene.

I wonder if this is the beloved character death Alan Ball warned us would happen before the end of the season? Surely not. I can't believe anyone cares about Tommy, not even Sam - which is a bit sad, but there it is.

I am quite worried about Jesus now, though. I've a horrid feeling he won't survive the season and Lafayette will be left all forlorn. :( Nan Flanagan may well be for the chop too, and I'm still worried about Pam. What if in the upcoming battle (and yes, I loved the Eric/Pam/Bill/Jessica power walk, it reminded me of the Boxer Rebellion scene in FFL) Tara kills Pam, and then Eric is so angry he kills Tara? :whimper:

So yes, fun, fun, fun! And Fiona Shaw was absolutely brilliant in this episode, swinging from Marnie, to Marnie/Antonia and making them both so different.

Not a lot to say about Jason or the Bellefleurs except that it's obvious poor Jason won't be able to stop himself confessing to Hoyt about Jessica and it'll all end very badly. Oh, and Terry is a sweetie. I hope whatever horrid frightfulness happens in the last two episodes, he, Arlene and the kids escaped unscathed.

Very pleased to finally see the back of Tommy! And I'd much prefer Sookie not to make a choice either way just yet. Bill has been so much more interesting this season on his own than he ever was when he was with Sookie.

Totally agree here, I hated the Mickenses too. I like Sam, but ended up skimming thru any scene with Tommy & Sam.

Yes indeed, she's a great Big Bad this season.

I'm a Bill/Sookie shipper, but I have to admit King Bill has been awesome this season without her around, so I wouldn't mind if it took another season for them to ultimately get back together.

Only 2 more eps. I wonder how much of a blood bath it's going to be at the end...

I, too, was petty relieved to see Tommy go at last. I'm glad to be done with that storyline.

But I'm worried about Jesus, too. Not so much about Tara and Pam---I don't feel a set-up circling there---but when Jesus is saying goodbye to Lafayette, I totally felt the possibility of something being foreshadowed there.

But Terry is still a sweetie, and always one of my favorites.
