Misfits season 3 ep 3
Nov. 14th, 2011 05:35 pmI'm still looking for some Misfits season 3 icons I like. Haven't found any yet. :(
Spoilers for the ep behind cut.
I absolutely adored last week's episode and am sad that there was no sign of Mel this week (I hope Curtis doesn't go to Rudy and try and swap his power again), but apart from that very minor quibble, this episode was great. I like Rudy more and more each week. I really like how different he is to Nathan. Okay, so both characters are spectacularly rude (in fact, Rudy may be ruder than Nathan, which I didn't think was possible) but unlike Nathan, Rudy doesn't grab all the attention and become the focus of every scene he's in, so the show feels more like an ensemble. Well, it was always an ensemble, but there were times when it felt like the Nathan Show, and since Nathan wasn't my favourite character that irritated me sometimes.
'Course, it was less like the Nathan Show in season 2 when the Simon/Alisha love story got going, and this episode played with the more comic book-y aspects of that relationship - literally. It was just excellent, and the twist at the end - well, I can't say I didn't see it coming at all, because I sort of guessed it (the cut to Alisha inexplicably walking through a deserted building was a giveaway), but it worked beautifully anyway. What's more, even though it felt in some ways like the entire relationship could have been dreamed up and drawn by Peter, it felt a lot more real at the end. Alisha is in love with Simon now, not the guy in the mask.
Elsewhere, Kelly continues to be brilliant. Best moment: the gang minus Simon breaking into Peter's flat and the burglar alarm going off. Kelly fixing it.
Curtis: You're a rocket scientist.
Kelly: I fucking am.
Great stuff.
