Okay, you know when I said....

Spoilers behind cut

...the episode where Eric and Sookie shag their way into Narnia was the most bonkers episode of True Blood ever? I think I've changed my mind. This was, or at least parts of it were.

I mean, Eric and Bill are going to do what so that Marnie will let Sookie go? Are they nuts? No, wait. Don't answer that. Are they more nuts even than usual? I really hope that once Eric calms down a bit he'll realise that he was wrong to be so angry with Pam and instead will thank her for being the only one who didn't go completely insane in the heat of the moment. Poor Pam! :sob: - on the bright side, with Marnie dead(ish), does that mean the spell is broken and Pam isn't rotting any more?

Because yes, I do think Eric and Bill went extra-specially nutty. I can't believe either of them entertained for a minute the idea that Marnie would actually keep her word to them and let Sookie go, let alone stop killing vampires just because they had killed themselves. Maybe it was some sort of macho thing? Bill: I love Sookie more than you, so there! I love her enough to die for her. Eric: Me too, so nah-nah-na-nah-nah!

Otherwise, I suppose the main arc parts of the episode more or less made sense, right down to the chilling last moment when Dead!Marnie took over Lafayette (am now extremely worried for both him and Jesus. Please don't kill them, Alan Ball. Please! They're way more interesting than Sam, Alcide and the werewolves), though parts of it were rather clumsily executed. Bill, Eric, Pam and Jessica looked utterly ridiculous, for instance, when they were supposedly struggliing against Marnie's attempts to burn them on her sunshine barrier (bet the actors were in fits of laughter between takes), and Anna Paquin totally failed at looking scared while surrounded by CGI fire. But Fiona Shaw was brilliant as always and I hope she's not completely gone from the last episode, though quite looking forward to seeing Nelsan Ellis's turn as Marnie.

I also hope that Tara will get more to do next season. She hasn't really done anything in the last few episodes except stand around with the other wiccans and look scared while Marnie rants. The upside of this is that I'm less concerned about her dying. She'd have had to be more important to the season for that to happen, which is why I'm so worried about Lafayette and Jesus. :whimper:

Also, it's nice to see Eric and Bill getting along better. And bizarre to see Sookie looking at them with this, "I am hopelessly in love with you both" look on her face when Eric has just ripped out someone's heart and drunk from it and Bill has machine-gunned an unarmed woman to death. Love is weird. Or maybe it's just Sookie.

Speaking of weird, how weird was that Andy Bellefleur/fairy business? I imagine that's going to be important in the last episode, tying in with all the bonkers stuff in ep 1 and bringing things full-circle. I hope so anyway, because otherwise it just seems like True Blood trying to out-bonkers itself yet again.

I've nothing to say about Sam and Alcide. I sort of switched off during those parts of the episode. I do feel a bit sorry for Debbie, though.

Roll on the finale.
