Season 7 question
Feb. 6th, 2013 09:25 pmWell, now my
rekindlespangel story is done, I don't have any fic writing commitments, so I've decided the next thing I need to work on is finishing my Spike/Giles season 7 WIP. I began it in late 2008, so it's been hanging fire quite long enough, I think.
I think I know where it's going, but there's one detail I need to get straight, which is, does Caleb ever explicitly state that he was responsible for blowing up the Watchers' Council Building? I've looked on the Buffyverse dialogue database but so far haven't come across him - or anyone else - saying so.
Does anyone know?

Blowing up the Council, organizing the Ray Charles Brigade, and stickin' all them splits—you never showed me.

EDIT: Curse you,
I cut out the "sticking all them splits" line because taken out of context, it sounds a bit like Caleb bragging about his gymnastics skills.

Blimey, I spotted the relevant quote rightaway myself this time. Can't think how I missed it before.

I find it hard to keep shooting scripts, actual transcripts and fanfic separated sometimes.

I remember a big debate on that somewhere. Not really a scythe, not really an axe. Sort of a handblade-scythe-axe-spear combo.
War scythes don't look like typical ones either, though. Given how much of the blade is concave, it's arguably more scythe than axe.

What on earth does mean? Who or what is a 'split'? And I've never noticed it before so I wonder what I heard it as or if the database is wrong.

Date: 2013-02-07 12:29 pm (UTC)It is, but I've thought of a way to work around it. In fact, I've already written the entire story.
In my head. ;)

Date: 2013-02-13 12:13 pm (UTC)A "split" is an impolite slang term for "female person". It's short for "split tail", an equally impolite term.
One of these days I'm going to have to count up the numbers and see how many ways there are of saying "drunk", "crazy", and "female" in English. It's truly breathtaking.
