Again, not really a review, but a few thoughts.

Spoilers behind cut.

I'm very uncritical when it comes to this show, as you know, but even so, I'm in two minds about the last shot of the 'Bill's vision' bit at the end. It certainly made a point. On the other hand, it would certainly be possible to be massively offended by it.

I guess we'll see how it goes.

Apart from that, I loved the whole episode except for the Sookie/Ben scenes when I was bored rigid. This is not for 'shipping reasons. It really isn't. I do like the Sookie/Bill/Eric triangle - and more so because Bill and Eric are actual friends now (or I think they are), but equally it doesn't bother me if it's over. On the other hand, Ben is boring. Really, really boring.

:Sigh: That, of course, is what happens when you create a character just to be a love interest.

Love the Eric vs Governor Burrell stuff, though. Love that Norah is trying to make peace with Pam. Hope that Pam will let her, and love all the insane Bill stuff (poor, poor Jessica!). Even love the Sookie/Jason/Fairy Grandad story, and the werewolves weren't in it enough to be boring this week.

So, yay! True Blood, basically.

That and freaky Bill were the best part of the episode IMO. Poor Jessica is not going to get much sleep these days.

I thought it was a really strong episode, too. Have to agree that Ben's just boring, though.

Jessica and Eric stole the show this week. I love it when Eric goes ~undercover, pretending to be a human. On an acting level, it's just wildly entertaining to see Skarsgard widen his range, the shift in his voice and body language. Then also it's fun to see how Eric views humans by how he chooses to portray them.

Finally, Jessica returning to her faith in a moment of crisis because she feels so alone, praying for all her friends and loved ones -- I found that incredibly moving. Poor girl.

I haven't watched the episode yet. I need to set the timer on my DVR! But I read your review and the comments anyway because it's all in good fun.

I was not into Ben... but mostly because he is played by a famous British soap actor, and it was really weird seeing him talk in that fake Southern accent.

"the werewolves weren't in it enough to be boring this week."

Ha! Amen to that. And now that Alcide is being even more of a tool, beating up Sam and Lafayette and kidnapping a little kid, it makes me wonder if they'll kill him off soon. I can't see much point in keeping him around, his storyline doesn't intersect with the main plot at all.

Yeah, he was in Eastenders, one of the most popular shoes here!

I don't mind Martha, but Alcide's dad is my favourite werewolf, mainly because he's played by the guy from Terminator 2.
