Been really busy but managed to watch this tonight. Spoilers behind cut.

Again, I could not care less about the case of the week, which I solved the minute the character whodunnit appeared on screen. Also, both the actress playing that character and the one playing the sleazy older bloke were not very good actors, IMO.

Also, also, I did get a bit irritated with Lucifer this week, not so much making the case of the week All About Him this time as making it There To Stop Him Enjoying himself and thus to be treated as unimportant. I do find him charming and funny, and most of the time I don't mind the clueless childishness, but occasionally it grates and this was one of those times.

Maybe I should be paying more attention to who writes individual episodes to see whether there are writers whose episodes I prefer- speaking of which I saw someone on Twitter saying that it was only in the episodes written by men that Lucifer comes across as so lewd and crude, and the Lucifer Writers Room account insisting this was not so and all the writers (of whom half or more are women) have input into every episode. Make of that what you will.

Anyway, gripes aside, I did enjoy the interaction between the various characters in the episode, especially Chloe, Maze, Dr Linda and Ella bonding over drinks, violence, and things that have nothing to do with Lucifer (apart from Chloe trying to mimic Lucifer's accent, which was funny). I liked the alcohol-fuelled adventures of Lucifer and Amenadiel somewhat less, because they were rather perfunctory. Fun, though. I do prefer them as non-warring siblings.

Best scenes: the four women in the bar, Amenadiel and Dr Linda (and boy, DB Woodside looked good in that scene), Lucifer pouring Maze a drink, and best of all, the final Chloe/Maze scene. I love the idea of them as flatmates. Also love the sense of impending doom at the end.

Fun, anyway. Way more fun than anything else I'm watching at the moment, though some of those things are much better shows, of course.

Also, just so you know, my beloved laptop is acting very cranky. I really hope it's not on its last legs, but it is getting on a bit now. :(

I found myself a little annoyed with Lucifer behavior last night too. I think he carried the me, me, me stuff too far. But I loved all the girls out for a good time and the bar fight was awesome. Love me some Maze violence. :)

In regards to new shows? Timeless and Westworld are pretty good. As is Lethal Weapon, which is sort of fun. On the fence about everything else.

In regards to Lucifer? Agree absolutely with everything above.

Not as a good an episode as last weeks. Lucy grated on my nerves a bit this week -- too over the top, not the acting, the writing, it seemed off. Also the mystery of the week...isn't holding my interest. I fear the series will sink more towards procedural and leave the fun supernatural stuff behind, which could cost it viewers? Because the fun supernatural/mythology and the characters relationships/interactions are its strength.

I kept waiting for Amanadial to tell Lucifer that he'd lost his wings. (Although I sort of wish they'd both get their wings back, I liked their wings -- I'm mourning the loss of those wings. LOL!) And I'm enjoying the two characters interactions -- they have great chemistry.

Also, agree the best scenes were with the four ladies, Lucy and the three guys, and Lucy/Amanadial and Lucy/Linda, Amanadial/Linda, Maze/Detective.

I'm watching the show for the characters and the interesting twists on the mythology. And ignoring the case of the week.

Regarding CGI wings? It may be just too expensive?

I wasn't as taken with the writing for the girls bonding scene but I did like that it was there (and the possibilities of Chloe and Maze living together). There definitely need to be more opportunities for the women to talk to one another.
