Well, it's official. Amazon has renewed The Expanse for season 4. I am really, really pleased, of course, but have to admit I would be far more pleased if it was Lucifer, even though I know (intellectually) that The Expanse is a much better show.

But I am pleased.

Yet again, many apologies for all those unanswered comments.

I watched an episode of Expanse yesterday but am still a few behind in the current season. I was interested to read that this season has the highest critical reviews so far though, perhaps because of the cancellation decision? I do think though that it's been the fastest paced season so far of the 3.

Yeah, love doesn't have to be rational. I agree that the Expanse is much better, and I'm happy. But I still haven't seen half of season 2 (and none of s3) and I am all caught up with Lucifer. That says it all doesnt it. :)

I've actually watched only one episode of season 3 so far. This is because I got impatient and couldn't wait for it to appear on Netflix (who have the streaming rights in Europe), but I think I have to. I find it quite hard to follow the dialogue without subtitles (closed captions, I think you call them), so I'm holding off watching any more for the moment.

It's great news. I wish I didn't still feel so downcast about Lucifer. It's silly and I've just got to get over it, I know. :(

It does, and I'm afraid I'm still not over it. I won't be for quite some time, I fear, and it doesn't really help that the fan campaign to keep the show going somewhere is still ongoing. I mean, it's laudable, but I can't help thinking if it was going to happen it would have by now.

Heh, well we strongly prefer watching all shows that way -- the exception is comedies as these often telegraph punch lines before the line delivery (and those can be the best part). Even so, we've sometimes had to turn them and go back to catch something too mumbled to understand.

Oh God, the mumbling, yes! Why does everyone have to mumble?

For me, it's even worse when Americans do it because of the accent. So, with The Expanse, I can usually understand Naomi. Less so Holden and the others.

For us it's worst if it's a Scottish accent -- maybe it's just me but the English actors do seem to enunciate better.

It's totally reasonable to grieve. And maybe it will still get saved. I know Tom Ellis hasn't given up yet.

Yes, Lucifer fans are very persistent. You've got to give them credit.
