No. I think whatever the Guardian did (which was minimal anyway) could just as well have been done by Buffy having a Slayer dream about the First Slayer. Would have been more in keeping too, considering the Shadow Men/Original Watchers must have been the ones who made the First Slayer who she was.
And I know what you mean about the Potentials' lack of diversity in every sense of the word. Nothing new in the Buffyverse, of course.
