I love the walk to work. Today, during the 2 mile trek to the out-in-the-sticks office, I finally managed to think of a plot for my [livejournal.com profile] plot_wout_porn story (due June). I'm all excited about it now, and will be until the moment comes when I have to sit down and start writing it, because that's all hard and stuff.

I don't love anything else about work at the moment, but I have to admit the writing's going better than I thought it would. Since I had that time off for my poorly neck, I've managed to write three shortish fics for [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003's [livejournal.com profile] taming_the_vamp community, whenever that opens. The stories still need some work but they're coming along. I've also written a short sequel to my Welcome to the Nancy Tribe Ficathon story, Safe, which I'm hoping to post next week, for reasons which will become apparent to those of you following this year's Calendar Posts. That story's pretty much done, though it's more of an episode in something longer, I've now realised, than a story complete in itself. I haven't done one of these Retell a Whole Season stories yet, but this is part of one. I just have to decide if I want to continue with it.

The worst thing about all of the above is that in no case could I think of a good last line. Since I started writing again in 2004, I've never begun writing something when I didn't know how it would end, and even now am nervous about doing so. The fact that I can't think of this killer last line is probably a good pointer as to why. With the last of them, I'm going to ask for beta help, but the others I will have to sort out for myself.

Which leads me back to my first paragraph. See, I know this [livejournal.com profile] plot_wout_porn story will work (if I can make myself get around to writing it) because I already know what the last line will be. I just have to get there.
