Last night's ep was just...blissful.

Slight spoilers behind cut

For those of you who have seen it, this was the episode in which Roger and Jane Sterling made complete fools of themselves, Carla the maid finally got more than two lines of dialogue (and good ones they were too) and Mr & Mrs Peter Campbell charlestoned everyone else off the dance floor. Meanwhile, Peggy got stoned with the backroom boys and Joan sang a filthy (or possibly not, my French isn't terribly good) French song to a bunch of doctors while playing the accordion.

And you don't dare miss a single frown or raised eyebrow, a single smile, or a single line of dialogue or you might miss the point completely.

Brilliant, brilliant stuff.

I need some more Mad Men icons, especially a Peggy one.

Yes, it was quite enjoyable! They managed to squeeze a lot of great moments into this episode. My personal favourite was seeing Vincent Kartheiser doing the Charleston. It was such a priceless and absolutely unforgettable experience, and it's definitely something I never expected to see! It's obvious he was having a lot of fun! :D

"especially a Peggy one."

Pete dancing the Charleston was awesome!

And Roger was so spectacularly cringeworthy!

It was an awesome (and pivotal) episode.

It was very very fabulous. I love Joan! (I don't think the song was filthy, but I couldn't be sure.) I love Peggy! I love Carla! Squee!

*nods* D: Poor Joan having to end up with such a git - she's queen of the independent lifestyle. She knows French! And a good tailor! *grumble*

Oh, the season is fantastic and it gets better and better. Mad man is such an amazing show. Did they get renewed yet?

I'm contemplating a rewatch at some point, because I'm fairly certain I missed stuff in the beginning when I didn't watch closely enough.

Sounds wonderful. I'm midway through the first season and love it... and by all accounts it gets better and better.

Great-Grandfather.

I can't remember what tipped off people that it was Conrad Hilton. I just remember after the episode originally aired, going to TWOP and there being people who had picked-up clues in the scene. The show later confirmed it.

No clue. But, since it's basically an edited version of a promotional pic, I don't know that it much matters.

I just got into this show and it is wonderfully non-pc: drinking and smoking pregnant ladies and all. I have been trying to put my finger on what is so amusing about Vincent Kartheiser's character and I finally decided he is Johnny Depp playing Ed Wood only without the mohair jumper and heels. Ha ha ha.
