About a year ago, I had the honour of beta reading a new fic by indri. She hasn't posted fanfic for a long time and many of you may not have heard of her, but she really is one of the best writers out there.

The fic I helped beta (though I don't think I was probably very much help) is finished now and being posted in installments.

Half Way There, the story of what Giles was doing during most of BtVS season 7. Go, read.

Ah, sorry. This is the first time I've serialised a work on LJ and I didn't think how important those might be.

I can't fix that now as I'm off to work but I'll see if I have time this evening. If you want to read it in the meantime, start at Chapter One and click through to the next post chronologically. There's only fic chapters up from that point on until yesterday.

Thanks! It's always a shame when authors make their work too difficult to follow for people to keep up with. Just a title tag name on the posts solves the problem :)

So glad you like it, Sue. I think it's unique among all the fanfic I've read about season 7, in that it reads like a proper war story to me. Plus, I love that kind of very spare prose so skilfully written. The only other story I've ever come across that comes near it is beer_good_foamy's Mission Accomplished.

I hope you enjoy the story. I think it's remarkable. Not quite like any other fic I've read.
