Fics On My To Do List

shapinglightSo I'm off sick from work, feeling a bit bleargh!. So far, I've watched two episodes of The Wire season 5 (enough to remember that Detective Lester Freamon is one of my all time TV heroes, hence the icon), and written 333 words of a Darla historical fic before coming to a grinding halt - the usual block thing. I'm not sure if it's that I can't continue or that I don't want to. It just seems like so much effort.
So anyway, I thought it might be a good idea to note down a few of the fic ideas that are knocking around in my head. You never know. I might write them some day.
First and foremost, there's Mirror, Mirror, currently my only idea for a Spike/Angel story (the Buffy comics have pretty much killed my Spangel love), an excerpt from which can be read here. I've written about 30 pages of this story. Parts of what I've written are quite good, I think, though of course need editing. However, I currently can't summon the will or the energy to write any more. Pity.
Then there's my Angelus/Darla C18th historical fic, which is a sort of crossover with Channel 4's City of Vice. I was so keen to write this a couple of years back. Bought books to research the period and everything. Now I feel like I must have been nuts. However, I would still like to write it if I can.
The other Darla historical, of which I've just written the first 333 words. It's a simple idea, because I'm trying to go easy on myself and get back into writing gradually. However, I've still run up against the big What Is This Story Trying To Say? barrier, which I feel too bleargh! to get past at the moment.
Both Darla historicals have rather pretentious titles which I'm not going to spoiler, so there.
I also have an idea for a Spike and Robin Wood fic. I doubt I'll ever write it, though. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do Robin and Nikki justice and I know I'm not up to coping with any flak if I get it seriously wrong.
There's a Buffy/Illyria fic lurking in the back of my mind too. It features a trip to a disused seaside pier and is dead creepy, but you may have to take my word for it, because I don't think I'll ever write it. If I do, though, the Buffy in the story will be similar to the Buffy of The Worst Journey in the World.
An apocalypse fic. Of course Age of Unreason is an apocalypse fic, but I'd quite like to write one that was a little less self-indulgent (not that there's anything wrong with self-indulgence in fanfic, but I have another LJ for that).
Ah well, if I never write any of them, there's always hope I can churn out a few more Wedding From Hellverse fics, (though now I've written about the actual wedding I'm not sure I have a lot more to say), and I daresay at some point I'll get an idea for some more filthy porn to post on the other LJ.
Off to try and turn the 333 words into 666 before I stop for the day.

And this sounds exciting! Possibly enough to bend my not-often-bent rule about not reading fic where Buffy or Spike are shipped with other people for reasons other than chronology... (It's not a rule in the sense that I restrict myself out of moral hanky-clutching, by the way; I just tend not to enjoy them. I imagine this potentially differently!)

I needed a thread running through these Darla fics (which I'm envisaging as a linked series of stories) and I've finally worked out what it is. Yay! If I can follow through, I might even be able to finish the first one tomorrow.
As for the Buffy/Illyria story - I shouldn't really have said Buffy/Illyria, more Buffy and Illyria. Erm...not sure Illyria gets this relationship stuff.

Oh, now, that's even even better!! I don't think she does either, but she could get into some sort of strange sexual relationship somehow, even with no secret anatomy, so I think I thought that was potentially going to be part of the creepiness...
