Last night's Being Human (ep8)

Brief thoughts behind cut.



I only just watched the episode this morning (was watching Prof Cox jetting around the world interpreting the periodic table last night). I'm not sure I know what to think. Yes, it was a very good episode, and yes what happened with Mitchell was inevitable after the massacre at the end of season 2, and I'm glad that the show followed through on what it set up and didn't give the character a last minute excuse to get him off the hook, but I'm sort of sad it retroactively 'contaminated' the George/Mitchell/Annie relationship in season 1, even though in view of what's happened that was obviously the truth of the matter.

I also can't help remembering the various times when someone in AtS would promise Angel they'd kill him dead if they had to and thinking, but no one ever would have done it, would they? Any idea that Joss was telling that kind of story (and fair enough, he wasn't) was killed stone dead when he brought Angel back in BtVS season 3.

Being Human is either much braver, or possibly much stupider. Dunno about anyone else, but I really don't want a season 4.

ETA: Not that the BBC ever listens to me, of course.

Well I'm sad Mitchell's gone as It won't feel the same, but at the same time I'd like the series to continue as I'm sure theres still life left in it.

I don't agree, sadly. I just deleted all but one of my Being Human icons.

I don't want a 4th series. It wouldn't be the same without Mitchel and I don't really want some lame-arse supernatural mumbo jumbo cop out to bring him back either.

I doubt that'll happen. Toby Whithouse gave an interview yesterday in which he said they always knew they only had Aiden on loan from the movies. Apparently, he has other roles lined up apart from his turn in The Hobbit.

I liked it and was sortof hoping they weren't going to do another season because the way it ended was pretty good.

I'll give Season 4 a try, just to see what they're going to do.

I'm not sure I will. The more I think about it, the less I liked that ending.

It annoying in a way, because you just know a series four would be good, but without Mitchell, I don't see the point.

Nor do I. What could it be except some low budget Underworld-type story - vampires vs werewolves?

I hated it. It's ruined the whole point of the show for me. And I very much don't want there to be a season 4 cos I really don't trust Whitehouse after that.

See, I got this comment straightaway, whereas I've received not a single one from last night. Very puzzling.

Yeah, pretending the show ended at the end of season 1 does currently seem the way to go. I knew bringing in all that overt religious nonsense in season 2 was a bad idea.

I don't see any point in a fourth season either - I know there will be one, but I will not be watching.

At this point I'm really not sure I'll be able to enjoy any part of the show again.

I thought it was an outstanding episode - and the perfect ending for Mitchell. I'll miss him in S4, but it will be interesting to see where they take the show from here.

I don't think I'll be watching, Cal. The more I think about it, the less I like that ending.

I'm gonna give S4 a chance, but that's only because it is my favorite show, and I do want to see what becomes of George and Annie. Without Mitchell though...nothing will be the same. Its just not Being Human anymore.

I do think Mitchell deserved some peace though, and I'm glad George was able to give him that, but all in all it just broke my heart to pieces, and I honestly just need some time to decompress.

I can quite understand that. I like George and Nina very much, but like you I feel that whatever comes next will just not be the same show, and I'm not sure I want to tune back in yet.

Not saying the ending didn't fit with the premise they set up, just wish they hadn't set up that premise. :(
