Spike hates litterers and so do I
Jul. 14th, 2011 02:47 pmWay back in the dark ages of fandom (ie. 2004/5), I wrote a series of fics called The Furnitureverse, in which Spike (as so often in my stories, especially back then), had suffered some sort of brain damage with rather peculiar results.
Slight spoilers for that story behind cut, should anyone care
Not only had he become so hyper-sensitive to the scent of human blood that he swooned away whenever he smelt it, but he had ambitions to start a pacifist, vegetarian vampire commune (only pacifist vegetarian vampires need apply, and if they step out of line he'll dust 'em) or to join Greenpeace (because they'll need someone to save the whales at night too). He was also very keen on having the death penalty extended to litterers.
Now, while I wouldn't quite go that far (and don't believe in the death penalty anyway), I really wish I had Furnitureverse Spike on hand to scare the crap out of anyone I see littering. Am so, so sick of the mess everywhere. Is it really so hard to take your rubbish home with you or use a bin? Aaargh!
Disclaimer: Am not of course addressing this at my flist, who I know would never litter. No, I'm talking to all the litterers out there. You know who you are. I wish Furnitureverse Spike did too.
This post brought to you by extreme boredom at work, coupled with extreme irritation about the rising amount of litter everywhere. What is wrong with people?
Any of you ever wanted to set a fictional character on someone or group of someones? If so, which character would you choose and why?

Date: 2011-07-14 02:47 pm (UTC)I like the new law they've introduced in Sweden. It gives the police the right to give fines to people who are found littering. I wish we had that here too.
I haven't thought about setting any fictional characters on anyone but now that you mentioned it, I might give it some thought. *g*

I think we possibly have that law already (will have to check), but if so, no one takes any notice. And if there was a government campaign against it here it would probably make people litter more, because everyone loathes politicians so much.

Date: 2011-07-15 09:36 am (UTC)Ah, a little untidyness in the home doesn't matter. Just makes it look lived in. :)

Date: 2011-07-15 09:42 am (UTC)And there I thought things were better in France. Oh well. I really don't understand it. Obviously people have got too used to the idea that it's someone else's job to clear up their mess.
