LJ's awfully quiet, isn't it? We really should all make a concerted effort to comment more on each other's posts, or this place is going to keel over and die.

With that said, on to the review, though I don't have an awful lot to say. Spoilers behind cut.

Oh dear! Poor Tara! I'm really quite upset about what's happened to her. Now she's lost her girlfriend - or driven her away. Plus, she's let herself be drawn into Antonia's quest for vengeance. And while I don't blame her one bit after what happened to her in season 3, not to mention the very nasty threats from Pam in this episode (lucky for Tara that Pam's camera shy at the moment), you know it can't lead anywhere good. Yes, Antonia too is perfectly justified, but we all know she's not going to be allowed to kill Bill, Eric and Jessica, and probably not Pam either (Ginger may be a compulsive screamer, but she's very loyal), and what will that mean for Tara?

My money's currently on Lafayette saving everyone, even if it's partly by accident.

Aside from the main plot, Sam's storyline continues to be annoying and pointless (I was willing him to kill Tommy and really irritated that he didn't), and I don't care about Alcide and Debbie either. Sticking in bits about them just succeeded in detracting from the vampire/witch story by diffusing the tension unnecessarily.

Anyway, it was nice to see some genuine bonding between Bill and Jessica, though I still feel I've missed too much there, and Woobie!Amnesia Eric/Sookie is rather sweet, saved from being cloying by the fact that it's so obvious it won't last beyond the season. Oh well.

:worries about Tara:

I'm looking forward to Sookie and Tara being on opposite sides of the fight. We keep noting how Sookie's not that great of a friend, caught up in her own drama, and this really draws it front and center.

I am going to watch this season of TB in one go when it finishes, but yes - it seems a bit quiet. But the LJ outage was HUGE , so this makes sense. I am just so tied up to few communities and some of my friends here, otherwise I would have been gone.

It was a particularly gruesome one last night, wasn't it. If the series follows the books at all and it does seem to in a general way, the Alcide/Debbie story sets up problems for Sookie that have yet to play out. But in the way of popular stories designed for a profitable long haul, the original Sookie books became a big, sprawling mess as the author, a very limited writer, spun out book after book in which nothing much happens. Amnesiac Eric is sweet and I certainly like their limbs entangling, but he's most interesting when he's powerful. Of course, Sookie will get all miniature nostril snorty girl when he's no longer great soulful eyes Eric. (That's miniature girl, not miniature nostrils though I suppose on a miniature girl...oh, never mind. I dribble on.) As for LJ problems, this last outage was very big and shows the major disadvantage of LJ being run from a country that wants to censor public sites and actually does it. Has everyone moved over to DW and left us behind? BTW, (still dribbling) I'm collected pics for a post on the local bird and animal life I see when I'm walking or driving about here. Naturally, after thronging the skies and trees during the spring and early summer, the eagles seem to have decamped for other parts. I haven't heard one for ages though I have seen the occasional eagle shaped dot up a tall tree or in the sky. Inconveniently, I seem to have deleted the eagle pics I did have, not sure why. Might be as they're always up so high I have to use my zoom which can be blurry at full extension. Still keeping my eyes skyward.

I'm thinking Tara and Marnie on one side and Sookie and Lafayette on the other.

And now there's the French speaking lady friend of Baby Mikey...

Dreamwidth seems to be fine so far , but then, I think, this is because of the small size. If I could just magically transport my friends list and communities into Dreamwidth - I would have like that.

Sometimes I want to take a plunge and make a "real" blog, on Wordpress or something else.

Oh yes, of course! I am alexandral there as well. I will try to double-post my icons and other heavy posts there too.

Not that Lafayette has any love for vampires.

True, but if he's worried about Tara going down the dark path and staying there...

Yeah, it's been awfully quiet around lately. (Er, not including all the crackficathon traffic on my blog.) Posting is still down, too, not just commenting.

I just finished watching it. I'm very frightened that we may lose Jessica. She's not in the books so Ball has even more license with her than he does any other character outside of Tara or Lafayette.

I understand why Alcide and Debbie are getting show time, but I agree that their plot thread is rather dull.

I kinda loved Jason running to Jessica's rescue (but not quite getting there.)

LJ's awfully quiet, isn't it?

I've found I don't really have much to say lately and what I might say just sounds trite and boring. Late summer doldrums, maybe. Plus RL is a mess pretty much everywhere.

At least Tara's girl didn't actually die. Maybe after all this is over, they can even get back together...yeah, probably not, but I'm an optimist.

I'm with you on banking on Lafayette coming to the rescue, too.
