Yeah. I can't help thinking (and have undoubtedly said it before), that a time will come when LJ just gives up because it's not worth the effort any more.
And meanwhile, they've made sure to change their interface so all the backup and export tools have stopped working, in case anyone wants to save their LJ.
A couple of weeks ago. People raised a bit of a stink, but last I heard LJ basically went "Hey, it's our site, and we can do what we want with it; if people who have developed apps for LJ have to start all over again, that's their problem."
I think Dreamwidth has managed to get their import tools to work with LJ again - at least they announced a while ago that they're re-opening the LJ-import queue.
If you're ever in doubt whether it's just you or not, checking LJ Status is a good idea. That's my first port of call anyway, and lo and behold, yes, it's another DDoS. :(
I wonder what's going on in Russia now? I read something about Putin's party unanimously voting for him to stand for president again. Maybe someone on LJ was outspokenly rude about it?
Yes. I actually can't read the whole message on Livejournal status as for some reason it's off the top of my screen. When does it say the attack started?

Yes, it seems to be back again. Must admit, I'm shocked by what BGF says, about the LJ/DW interface not working any more, so you can't import content. When did that happen?
I can't remember the specifics, but it was something to do with the update that had the security breach in it; they've reworked how everything's put together or something, which has stopped the code DW and a lot of the journal archiving software use to export journals. At least that's how I understand it.
(PS. Did you see Misfits? What did you think?? I just watched it and it was fairly harrowing! Next week looks good, though - lots of Mel!)

I'm in-between handing in work and hearing about it, so I'm sort of having a day off - only it's got to four o'clock and I haven't done anything. Trying to do some work on an Illyria vid I've got going, but it's very slow stuff.
Glad to know it's not just me! It was a lovely holiday weekend over here, and now I'm feeling the irresistible pull of Christmas, which means the year is just about over. So much still to do. Squawk!
Oh well, maybe I'll get some writing done with LJ down. Not likely, though.
