Most of the news is bad (as usual), but there was one good bit: the next James Bond film featuring Daniel Craig is about to go into production (after a rather rocky time when the production company went bankrupt etc). Have to admit, I squeed loudly when I saw that, which is not something I ever thought I'd do over a James Bond film.



But, as I have previously -probably rather shame facedly -admitted, I love Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace to pieces, and don't care one bit that the latter is all about Bond's manpain. For me, it's all about Bond and M anyway.

In other news, my taking a few days off at the beginning of this week to write seems to have paid dividends. Not only did I finally thrash my Nekid Numbers fic into submission (with rebcake's help), but I think I may have finished the next instalment in my Spike/Giles retelling season 7 series, plus, in a fit of wild overconfidence that the writers' block might be gone at last, I signed up for cafedemonde's rekindlespangel extravaganza, and I even have an idea for it.

Things are looking up. :)

I'm relieved it is a different director to QoS, I hated the direction in that.

For me, it's all about Bond and M anyway.

Well Spike/Darla might be a closer match for Bond/M but Wesley was the one who wanted to be Bond. I can't imagine Spike holding much truck with dinner jackets.

I quite liked Casino Royale (the first Bond I have ever liked), but have never gotten around to watching Quantum of Solace. I should do that.

I loved QoS. I actually liked it more than Casino Royale, though I know I'm pretty much alone in that. I loved the main female character (well, M is the main female character, so I suppose I should say the main Bond girl). She was very different, I thought. But mainly, I love Bond's relationship with M. It's just very well done, and works so well, given that, unlike Piers Brosnan, Daniel Craig is young enough to be Judi Dench's son.

I'm pretty sure you'll like the Bond/M bits anyway. Also, it's a direct sequel to Casino Royale and doesn't waste much time on previouslies, so it might be a good idea to rewatch that first.

I never thought I'd get the Spangel love back, but I seem to have found it from somewhere. Possibly when I told myself that whatever I wrote would treat the Buffy/Angel comics with the contempt they deserve and ignore them.
