Fic stuff

Hmm, seems that moaning off about fic writing has had the usual effect of forcing me to admit I have two fics almost ready for posting.



A-actually, it's more like one and a half fics, and the one fic has basically been ready since November last year. I just had to re-write one scene. So I've written it and coped with the subsequent fallout of changing the scene for later parts of the story (I hope). I just have to re-read/edit one more time and that's it.

The half fic is a short thing I've written for the Drunken Giles ficathon, which ends next Tuesday, I think, so I'll only just squeeze in under the wire since I'm still mulling over whether it's funny enough, especially the last line. So anyway, hopeful posting date for them both is next week.

In other fic writing news: well, there isn't any really. I have a lot of half-formed ideas but no notion when I'll get around to writing them. The only concrete idea I have is for that Spike/Angel mirror fic I might have mentioned a few times (though probably no one remembers except me). However, that's on hold till the latter part of the year, as I'm going on holiday to California in June and I think having a slightly better idea of what the place is like will help enormously. Oh, and finishing off my Spike/Giles retelling season 7 story. Always that.

Other than the two above, ideas are: a war fic featuring Spike and Riley (not as a couple), and probably with Buffy in it too. One of those Five Times fics (which I've never attempted before, and why five? I've never understood that) featuring my second favourite vampire, Darla. And there may (or may not) be vampire gladiators at some point over on my evil twin's other LJ.

We'll see.

Oh, that's interesting. Thanks for the link. And I think I know the Spike story she's talking about. Had no idea it was the first of those.

Hmm, does the format insist they have to be AUs? Do you get rapped over the knuckles if they aren't?

As for the possible Darla thing, I'm still mulling it over. My temptation when writing her is to fling Spike into the mix because I like their dynamic. However, their dynamic is really all of my own invention, so I don't know.
