I'm completely hooked, I'm afraid - to the extent that Brit successes in rowing and cycling (sitting down sports, you see) have got me snuffling into my hanky, which I am putting down to advancing old age.

The BBC, of course, is concentrating on Brit competitors where possible, which means we've seen a lot of said rowing, cycling, with a smattering of swimming, hockey, football, tennis etc (and I've just seen the great Ian Thorpe tick Gary Linker off for moaning about Team GB's performance in the swimming pool by pointing out that Australia have only won one gold and he is immensely proud of his team's performance, so there - and good. It needed to be said. What exactly was Lineker expecting?)

What have other countries' TV coverage been concentrating on in particular?

Yuppers! Love to see the amazing things they are trained to do. Since my daughter competed, I have some idea of the work involved. She was level 7 in her last competition and trained to level 9. Olympics is essentially level 11. It meant going to the gym after school about 6 hours a day and all day Saturday. And a strict diet - lots of travel - lots of money (my mother helped.) She quit when she was doing double fulls on the floor - that the in the air upside down twist (she had mastered singles) and back tucks on the beam - (a somersault in the air) because she was afraid of breaking her neck. Can't say I blame her. She was 12 when she quit - and her couch wanted to get her into the Olympics. I had hoped to get her a college scholarship - you need to be at level ten for that. It was totally her obsession - she was walking on her hands across the house when she was five. She used to stay after lessons and cry when it was time to go home.

The rowing was someone's explanation for Spike's physique. Not a bad one either. I'm really willing to swallow any idea if you can support it! And - yeah on the Cambridge team...I can see him doing that whenever he's in London for old time's sake.

How totally fitting! Given his romantic obsessions and pitiful attempts to fit in. Yeah, a lightweight!

What I saw of his legs in the naked hell scene did not look that bad....:D

Oh, yum! Do you think it's too lat to bribe the camera man to just pan down a bit. Nah - just gonna see the willy sock.

BTW - no Gambels quail? You need to come to AZ in the winter - it's a bird watcher's paradise!
