Desperate Measures
Jan. 23rd, 2008 05:47 pmI was stuck working in the boss's office today, as his desk was the only free one. I didn't dare go online at all but on the other hand I was only being overlooked intermittently and the result of that is a Torchwood drabble, Captains Jack and John, of course.
Spoilers for Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang, though I sort of assume that anyone who hasn't seen the episode yet just plain doesn't want to.
Setting: A (not-surprisingly) deserted planet in a hell-hole of a galaxy far, far away.
Rating: PG-13 (erm, probably)
Pairing: Captain Note-the-Stripes Jack Harkness/Captain Note-the-Sarcasm John Hart
Author's note: Rubbish at drabbles and it probably isn't any good but never mind. Takes up and runs with the ageing pirate aspersions cast at Captain John by Jack on a rooftop car park in Cardiff (and bet that'll teach him not to piss off an ex-lover at the top of a high building ever again). What if Captain John wouldn't take no for an answer?
Desperate Measures
Pitiless twin suns beat down on Jack’s head. He struggled vainly against his rock-hard prison.
“You’re buried to the neck in sand. Better not strain anything important.”
John’s mock concern didn’t hide his glee. He flopped down next to Jack and opened a striped umbrella, creating a surreal patch of shade in the desolate landscape. When he leaned down for a wet-mouthed kiss, his eyes sparkled.
“Love me again yet, do you?” he asked, smugly. “Maybe a little bit?”
Jack rolled his eyes.
“You’re growing deaf as well as senile, you crazy little bastard. I said, no chance in Hell.”
Have just realised that the preamble for that drabble was way longer than the drabble itself. Bit embarrassing.
