Haven't done one of these yet this year and it's nearly February. Also, I should have a special icon for this topic. Definitely.

Anyway, I think my [livejournal.com profile] rekindlespangel story is finished, but I'm not happy with it.

Trouble is, I think it's fine as a piece of writing (or as fine as I get, not making any claims to anything more), but I don't really like how it's worked out, and I suspect a lot of other people won't either. On the other hand, it's all I've got, and it's got to the stage now that if I fiddle with it any more, I'll ruin it (even, I suspect, if I fiddle with it to make myself like it better).

Writing is hard an' stuff.

My posting day is Wednesday, btw, and I've been so bound up in trying to write the bloody thing that I forgot Nephew 5's eighteenth birthday. :( It's hard to tell because he's monosyllabic at the best of times, but he may never forgive me.

I always squee when a story ends with Spike all happy and loved, but It would be boring if that happened all the time. The stories that don't end well are often the ones that are most impactful. These characters would be nothing without a angst. I say go for it.
