Or winge. As usual, I'm not sure.

So, my little piece for [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_giles is all ready to post. My day is Thursday. I'm quite pleased with it, which is either a sign that the apocalypse is imminent or that it's not very good, since, as you know, I usually hate what I've written at first, and only decide it wasn't so bad on re-reading several months later.

In other - more normal- writing news, I re-read the first draft of what is now the penultimate story in my Spike/Giles season 7 series (I've been re-reading some old LJ posts, and it's terrible how many years I've been saying that this was the year I was going to finish it). You know, the one that includes the World's Worst Fight Scene?

The fight scene is still pretty bad. In fact, there's an awful lot wrong with it. Basically, it needs completely re-writing. :(

Writing is hard. It really is.

Speaking of it, though, I've finally decided that I will post the up-dated version of Brief Encounter on Ao3. Several people said they preferred the original version, but I like the new one, so that's the one I'm going to post.

Glad you unstuck a story, even if others still give you hell.

I'm freaking out about SOG. Been stuck for a month, nearly, with half a perfectly good story that I've got no remainder for. I may have to scrap it and do something else, but I do not know what, at all.

Thursday cannot come soon enough. I'd say more, but it's back to work for me!

I am looking forward to seeing it, and well done to you for pressing on through blocks and writing difficulties. I am tentatively seeing the glimmering end in sight for the rough draft of my own super-long WIP-from-Hell.

I still have to write my SoG story though, a project made more difficult by the fact that I have no bloody idea what to write, beyond 'My modern AU!Spike and Rupes snark and experience the Generation Gap with probably absolutely zero sex and maybe a spanking to give readers any incentive at all to read it' *chews nails a bit*
