True Blood season 6 ep 7
Jul. 29th, 2013 02:58 pmJust watched this, and...
Spoilers behind cut.
...oh dear, that was sad! I mean, I knew Norah was for the chop - recently introduced character, audience not that invested in her, why not use her to up the angst quotient for established characters? But they really went to town on it, didn't they, and Alexander Skarsgard was very good (even in the flashback scenes to the Great Plague of London, with the awful wig etc, which left me wondering why he took Norah to Godric to be made a vampire instead of doing it himself).
I've no clue how Eric will behave towards Bill now that Bill has failed to save Norah. Bill didn't fulfil his promise - or not in time. Will Eric help Bill now? I suppose he will. Pam and Willa are all he has left, after all. I'm a bit sad for the end of the weird Eric/Bill friendship (sorta, kinda), though.
Elsewhere, Jason's cunning plan came to its inevitable conclusion (yay! Tara for protecting him), Jessica's vampire beau James continued to be too good to be true (seriously, I kept expecting him to suddenly turn on her), Sarah Newlin did what I thought she would do, and Pam and Willa were both awesome in their own ways. Meanwhile, Bill was very creepy (in a good way) in the scene at the Bellefleur house, and Sam and the werewolves continued to bore me rigid. Except for the scene between Alcide and his dad (because Robert Patrick is very good).
And there wasn't nearly enough Lafayette.
Only three more episodes. I think I remember reading somewhere that the show runners want to scale the show down again. No more vampire politics etc, just a bunch of rather odd people living in a sleepy little town called Bon Temps. I suppose I can see where they're coming from, but since the vampire politics stuff is what I like best, I can't help but worry who else they're going to kill before the end of the season.

It's also very hard to think of Sarah Newlin as a villain, when she just discovered five or six bodies, one of whom had had its head ripped right off, all killed by vampires.

Maybe Deborah Ann Woll wants to leave?

Date: 2013-08-05 05:44 pm (UTC)Too much Sookie and wotshisface and not enough Pam and Tara (and Lafayette) is my diagnosis.
I agree that it's looking ominous for Jessica. She's so loveable, but they had her do a Very Bad Thing. So we're probably meant not to love her now. Now, what does that remind me of ..... ?

Date: 2013-08-05 05:53 pm (UTC)I think we are still supposed to love Jessica. We're supposed to think she's such a good person, even as a vampire, that she can't live with what she's done.
We'll see. I hope I'm wrong.
