I hear you! They are really difficult. I vividly remember the agony of writing the big fighting scene in Things Present - Things Past. In that scene Buffy was fighting a dozen opponents.

You know what helps? Make a drawing of the battleground, use some markers for the characters and then move them around. That way you can use furniture and other obstacles. Believe me, it works.

I'll take that advice to heart.

I think the worst thing for me is that I find them boring to write. I'd much rather write a conversation.
