The Good Wife season 5

Away this weekend, but before I go, just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying The Good Wife season 5. Just watched ep 3 and...



...am thrilled by all the changes going on. Diane kicked out of her own law firm, Alicia and Cary about to make a break. Peter trying (and failing) to avoid trouble with the glamorous ethics committee lady. Zac and Grace so grown up. The nerds at the NSA. Another appearance from a The Wire alumnus.

Great stuff (as long as they avoid any more caricature evil Brits).

Well, actually I have to. This will be the first time I've watched the show as it airs (over here, that is). Delayed gratification is tough.

All the episodes have been so good so far I couldn't pick a favourite. Maybe ep 2 (the one with the NSA nerds) wins for queasy-making quirkiness?

Then again, I just loved Diane standing her ground in this ep. It's awful how quickly things have gone bad between her and Will, when they've stood by each other up to now. Very believable, though.

Well, I suppose it's more that heretofore, Diane has stood by Will.

I think apart from a few early episodes in season 1, where the characters were still bedding in, the only time this show has been weak was early in season 4, and even then it was only in Kalinda's storyline. Everything else continued to be great.
