A few more random things, mostly fannish
Mar. 21st, 2014 10:36 pmSo, Agents of SHIELD is back on TV over here. Have watched both episodes, but...
spoilers behind cut
Am still none the wiser as to why Coulson isn't dead or as to Skye's origins. This is not because they haven't explained these things but because I zoned out with sheer boredom while they were explaining them and missed stuff. Probably, the same thing will happen in the episode featuring Sif (you know, from theThor and Loki Thor movies?) I will have no clue why she's in the episode because at some point I stopped paying attention.
Re: Skye's origins, I had (in so far as I care at all) had the thought that it might turn out Melinda May was her mother, but this episode probably shot that theory down in flames. Not that I know. I wasn't listening.
In complete contrast to M: AoS, Loki: Agent of Asgard (a comic) is tremendous fun. Favourite line so far? "Are you sure that's Loki? He looks a bit One Direction-y."
In other fannish news, the first issue of Buffy season 10 was quite enjoyable. This is a first for me for the Buffy comics. My initial reaction to the first issue of season 8 was complete and total hatred. I told myself that I was being unfair and should give it a chance, which means I've since read getting on for a decade's worth of awful comics, including season 9 no 1, which featured Buffy written like a drunk three year old. However, season 10 no 1 (while still being far from great literature) was a breath of fresh air.
Needless to say, it won't last. The Dark Horse Law of Diminishing Returns decrees that at some point they'll balls everything up and piss off all the fans again.
I've watched three episodes of the second series of The Americans now. It is - like series one - awesome.
I'm probably going to disappear again from tomorrow. I hope it won't be for as long as last time. :Waves pathetically:
I miss you all.

Date: 2014-04-01 06:11 pm (UTC)No 1 was quite good. As long as you don't expect any great insights.
The Americans is so good, isn't it? I've watched four episodes now (or is it three? I'm so tired everything's faded to a blur).
