Well, not so much today, as the plasterer failed to show up. :(

Still, at least I haven't had a fight with S - mainly because he isn't here.

In other news (such as it is), er...

...for a moment there I couldn't think of anything.

Still - well, maybe 'enjoy' isn't quite the right word - watching Game of Thrones. Can't believe season 4 is nearly over already. Watched the finale of Agents of SHIELD last week. Was better than most of the episodes but I couldn't care less about any of the characters and the Jossian touches of humour fell flat for me (mainly because I've seen them done before, and better). Still loving The Good Wife.

Other than that, it's all House/Wedding/House/Wedding/House/Wedding.

I'm even boring myself.

Have some birdy pics.

First, from right outside our bedroom windows:

A baby long-tailed tit, just fledged. "Mummy, what's that big blue thing up there?"

Second, from a walk at World's End,

a green-veined white butterfly,

a very handsome male whinchat,

and a cuckoo.

Yep. That's a cuckoo all right. No wonder it's lurking behind that branch.

Mind you, it hasn't escaped notice altogether, that meadow pipit below and to the right, has its eye on it.

Sad really. The problem is that we think of cuckoos as being British, but they're only here for six weeks a year. The rest of the time, they're either in West Africa or in transit between here and there. It's no wonder they're so terribly misunderstood.

Cuckoo: "Cuckoo-oo!", which is cuckoo for, "Are you sure you don't mind the missis laying an egg in your nest? That's awfully decent of you."

Meadow pipit, flying off: "naDevvo'yIghoS!" (Don't ask me why meadow pipits speak Klingon, they just do, okay?)

Cuckoo (clueless that it's being told to bugger off): So kind. Do take care when the egg hatches, though. My lad/ladette can be a bit of a handful.

Meadow pipit (distant): Hab SoSlI' Quch! (this, apparently, means, 'your mother has a smooth forehead', the deadliest insult in the Klingon language).

Cuckoo (beams): So kind!

"It's nice here."

"Cuckoo! I said, it's nice here."

"On the other hand, it's cold."

:Pines for the rainforest.:

How are all of you?

*solidarity wave*

Plumber has sent back new loo because it doesn't suit his concept. I'm growing roots in parents' spare room.

Some day you'll look fondly back on all of this. Not anytime soon, however.

Baby long tailed tit is so delightfully tousled!

I remember when my folks had their house renovated - it nearly caused a divorce. But they loved the end result, even though the extra space did mean my granny could go and stay with them. :)
