Okay, so I've finally caught up with all the episodes of the latest DW series.

Must say, that third episode...

Spoilers behind cut

...has to be one of the silliest things I've ever watched. No wonder Malcolm Tucker the Doctor looked so pissed off the whole way through.

That said, I did enjoy it, especially all the references to other Robin Hood product, including the old kids' program, Maid Marian and her Merry Men, (the Worksop reference) which K used to love when she was little.

Peter Capaldi's great, and somehow Clara's a lot less annoying, or not annoying at all, with him.

I wondered where Worksop came into it, but it was still funny. I'm afraid I'm still finding Clara annoying, but not nearly as annoying as the sledgehammer scripts. Still, at least the music has calmed down.

I'd say, it was one of the funniest Doctor Who that I watched in a while. :) It was goofy, but they got me with the arrows contest, I didn't expect to laugh so hard, and then I just loved the whole thing.
And all the banter between Doctor and Robin - I thought it was hysterical. And the Sheriff wasn't bad either. A bit campy, like the Old Master. (Heh, see, I've been having a huge crash on Doctor Who all this year, coming seemingly from nowhere. But I caught up with a lot of it :))

Capaldi is so good as the Doctor. But no such luck with Clara - still annoying, and still reminding me of Buffybot. :D I'm just waiting for her to be gone, at this point.

I suspect Clara will stick around as long as Stephen Moffatt the showrunner does.
According to various press leaks - not really. But we'll wait and see. Donna's got just one season, compared to that no one has got too little...

Donna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still not over what happened to her.

I... kinda think in retrospect she's my favorite companion.

DONNA!!!! <3333 Yes, it's hard to think about her without exclamation marks. She felt so alive and real. My favourite companion as well.
And in retrospect, I think she was played by the best actress to ever play a female companion. Just as Wilf Mott was probably played by the best actor...

Yes, feels so unfair... Well at least she got to be in some specials too. But the last ones don't really count, sigh...

We enjoyed it as lightweight fun, but I was surprised how many of Facebook friends loathed it.

I loved it, silly as it was. We went out and rented the Errol Flynn version right after. :D

Hee hee, I loved the Worksop reference too!

I'm really enjoying Capaldi as the Doctor, and I've never had a problem with Clara (she's a massive improvement on Amy Pond, who I was never keen on, partly because Karen Gillen didn't really seem to have the necessary acting chops for the role). I was enjoying the darker direction they seemed to be taking the Doctor in, so it seemed odd to have such a silly episode at this point in the series, when they were in the process of establishing him as a more serious incarnation.

Also, Mark Gatiss is a genius at writing League of Gentlemen, so why do his Who episodes always fall short?!

It seemed like everyone on my flist absolutely loved the third episode, while I was more "it was okay/I'm not completely swept away by it". The banter between the Doctor and Robin was very funny though *g* It felt like an episode that I had to be in the right mood for to enjoy

I have to admit that I think I enjoyed this one most in the season thus far. I rather miss the whimsy in the Doctor and this gave this version of the Doctor a touch of whimsy.

Saw the trailer with Robin winking and deleted my recording of the episode. I'm afraid I've reached my limit for this kind of campy, knowing Doctor Who. I think I like Capaldi, though. He managed to make the first 2 episodes bearable, despite them both being very ordinary.

Just saw it and really enjoyed it! It was superfunny and Capaldi is growing fast on me. I like his grumpy Doctor a lot.

Clara, though, argh, I don't even think the actress is bad, it's just that Clara is not written like a human being. I don't get her motivations, her fears, her dreams, nothing of that. All the other companions were somewhat relatable, but she doesn't feel real. The writers have no real idea what to do with her, so she is a slightly different character every episode.
