I am such a time-waster. Instead of doing anything productive the last few days, I've spent most of my time mainlining season 2 of The Americans, and now I'm on to season 3, and I can't stop watching.

It is just so good.

I keep thinking to myself that I should really dislike Philip and Elizabeth. They do horrible, horrible stuff all the time. Yet despite that, I don't find them to be horrible people. I like them. I'd like the show to end with them getting away with it.

I don't think it will, but I'd like it to.

Also, Oliver North - the Oliver North- writing for season 2 will never not be weird.

I know what you mean. They do really dreadful things. I want them to get away with it too. I think at least one of them will.

You may be right, in which case I suspect it will be Elizabeth, even though Philip is the 'nicer' less fanatical one.

I also have a sneaking liking for Arkady and Oleg, which I guess is a little less problematic given that we've never seen either of them kill anyone.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if Martha ended up killing Philip. It's bad enough that she's found out 'Clark' doesn't exist. If she finds out that Philip has a wife and kids I think she'll lose it.
