I just wrote a ficlet in which Spike is a narwhal, so as you can see, pretty much anything goes as long as it's Spuffy.

Ahaha, you did it.

That prompt came about as a result of a conversation between Foxstarreh, Drizzlydaze, and I. It's a long and convoluted story involving Drizzly, a college writing sample of Original Fic, and us trying to convince her to slack off and join the comment fill party.

Fox figured the prompt would be much better if it didn't get explained. :)

(I'm not too sure what the joke is that Moony's referring to, unless it's that the narwhal has a 'spike' on its forehead - which *is* how it was decided that Spike would have to be a narwhal as opposed to some other whale.)
