I've just finished the first draft of my offering for the anniversary round of seasonal_spuffy, and just for once I don't think it's the worst piece of writing by anyone since forever (which probably means it is). Also, it's quite sickeningly curtain ficc-y (far more so than anything else I've written ever), and has bugger all to do with the theme of the round.

Ooh dear!

Usually you think it's bad writing, but this time you don't think it's bad writing - so that probably means it really is. Sort of hard to win on those terms. And yet I have no doubt that I will love it.

I hope so. It's the polar opposite of the sort of thing I used to write. ;)
