Lucifer season 2 episode 11

shapinglightSo - Lucifer's back (if only for three episodes). I watched it before I even got dressed this morning (in my defence it was still only 7am) because I wanted to see it so much.

I wasn't disappointed. I loved the episode to pieces. It had pretty much everything I could want in a Lucifer episode, including a passing reference to the fact that Lucifer himself is bisexual (or probably more like omnisexual). There were terrific Lucifer/Chloe, Lucifer/Dan, Lucifer/'Mum', Lucifer/Amenadiel scenes, and Maze was on pretty good form too (loved her scene with Dr Linda). I even liked the procedural part of the episode (which I'm usually not too keen on), except for being a bit bewildered by who it was that the mysterious man in the hat killed at the end there. To me, it looked like the same bloke who the police arrested for drugs dealing, but I'm pretty sure it was meant to be the obnoxious bloke with the mansion in Malibu and that the arrested bloke was the one Lucifer and Chloe spoke to first when they got to said mansion.
Or was it the other way around?
Anyway, I'm glad that Lucifer got furious with whichever one of them it was that was arrested over what he said about the dead flight attendant. She'd seemed like pretty much a throwaway character up to that point.
I'm a little sad that the Lucifer/Amenadiel scene was possibly a fake-out. I'd like to think Amenadiel meant what he said, but he could well have just been furthering 'Mum's agenda (whatever that actually turns out to be). I'm certainly not sad about how Anya-like 'Mum's' being written. I'm pretty certain she'll turn out to be the very opposite of benign, but I'm really enjoying her weird inability to understand when less is more. ;)

Anyway, the Deckerstar 'shippers on Tumblr should be happy (I guess, I haven't checked), though I'm sure a spanner will be thrown into the works by the time the show goes on hiatus again.
ETA: I've now re-watched the episode and am clearer about which beard-y villain is which. Also, I've realised that even if what Amenadiel said to Lucifer was part of 'Mum''s nefarious plan, it was still the truth, because 'Mum' said that's what would work with Lucifer. Nice. I like the idea of Lucifer and Amenadiel getting on better (though of course that could all change when Lucifer realises what 'Mum' is really up to).
