Legion renewed

Legion has been renewed for season 3, despite the fact the ratings are terrible.

I'm very pleased about this. It is a great show - a work of art really.

F/X has different standards than FOX apparently. It's more interested in critical reviews than ratings. Actually cable is generally that way...

Just as well for Legion. The ratings have been half of what they were in season 1, and even then they weren't that high.

I have to admit I've been less than engaged this season but I am glad that something on the more experimental side of TV (not to mention of the superhero genre) is getting this support.

Really? Any particular reason? I've thought this season was just as good as season 1, if not better at times.

I've talked about it a bit in posts, but largely I find it's much less character centered than it was in S1 and the plot is, well, amorphous.

Oh dear! I must have missed those posts. I'm getting worse and worse at keeping up.

Haven't watched the finale yet so won't comment on the season as a whole until after that, but I don't really agree with what you say, I don't think, about the amorphousness and the lack of character stuff.

No worries, I didn't do a lot of discussion on it. I have seen the finale now and thought it was the best episode of the season. But yes, while this one had interesting moments it did not grab me as a whole.

Hmm, not sure I agree with that either. I think there have been many stellar episodes in season 2. In fact, I think they've all been pretty amazing. The whole season has felt like the middle part of a trilogy though.

No, definitely not. It had a very "Luke, I am your father," feel about it to me. Some sort of follow up needed.

Yes, that did make me feel a lot more positive, and is part of the reason why I was so surprised when it was Netflix that picked the show up. I had no idea they were even interested. Now it seems that both the streaming services wanted it and Netflix won out.
