sueworld2003. This month, it's BtVS season 2 Spike month, and once again I've written a not very good drabble to go with the picture. As I'm always saying, drabbles really aren't my forte, but I think at least I've managed to get the 'punch word' at the end this time (speaking of which, I went back and fiddled around with the January and February ones and I think they're better now).
Professional Blunder
Setting: A photographer's studio, somewhere in London, late-1990s
Rating: G or PG-13, I suppose
"Get a bloody move on, mate. Haven't got all day. Places to be, people to kill."
The photographer wiped sweat from his forehead.
"I'm sorry." His voice came out a squeak. "I'm sorry," he tried again. "This isn't working."
His subject raised a scarred eyebrow. Otherwise, his relaxed, big-cat pose didn't change.
"Yeah? Why's that, then?"
The photographer tried to smile a professional smile, but he didn't let go his death-grip on the camera tripod.
"Unfortunately, I can't see you through the lens. Mirrors, you see."
The vampire hissed through gleaming fangs. "Wanker! Thought I told you to use digital."
And here's what the poor, soon-to-be ex-photographer was trying to photograph.
