Been LJ silent for a while. Think I ran out of words temporarily.

Anyway, back now, and last night I finally got around to watching the latest DW episode, Amy's Choice.

Spoilers behind cut.

Don't know about anyone else, but I thought that was a great little episode - definitely the best yet of the new series. Everything (or almost everything) seemed to work well somehow, and it managed to be scary (or as scary as DW ever is), poignant, creepy and exciting all at once. I dunno. It was just..neat. Neatly written, well-plotted etc etc. Had an old-fashioned, writerly feel. Oh, and the bloke playing the Dream Lord was very good indeed.

What did everyone else think?

I am enjoying this series of DW - I'm not really a Who fan, but this seems good fun. :D I agree it seemed well written etc.

Oh, yes! I think I blanked that episode out! LOL! Was terrible. I've missed a couple, so it's not on my must watch list, but is fun.

Being a lover of 'old Who' I enjoyed it too. In fact I think it's my favorite so far.

I agree very much. Although I'd add that it was also funny and exceedingly quotable. And I really liked Amy's choice, and why she chose that way. Very well handled all round I think - that kind of love triangle can so, so easily go wrong, but they managed to sort it out within two episodes (and do interesting things with the Doctor at the same time). I approve.

I enjoyed it a great deal too. Having three people in the TARDIS always works well for me (or it did in old Who) and I like the addition of Rory very much.

I thought it was the best of S5 too, although the only episode I've hated so far has been the Dalek one.

It's good to see you posting again.

I liked it, but I think I liked last week's better.

I also thought it was the best episode so far (and so did my little circle of austrian Who fans). I loved all the issues the Doctor had going on and also that it was really creepy.

I'm quite ond of the new series, there's a lot of fresh wind, I like th actors and the writing seems to have found it's footing after the not so great space whale and Dalek episodes.

I'm going to need a proper Who icon.

MY PONCHO BOYS!

I did like it. There was a weird parallel to Torchwood to me with the "what is the point of you?" line, but the Dream Lord was great (and creepy).

It was fine, but I can't say it stood out from the rest so far (other than the Dalek ep, which was pants). I thought the scary old people were a bit silly. Just once it would be nice to have a villain that moved faster than a shamble.

It was great! Well written and very funny. I loved the bit about the bench. 'What will they think of next?' Hee!
