I'm having a good week with writing this week (the first in ages).

I've written two more parts of that Ten Years After story I started on [livejournal.com profile] sb_fag_ends in July (was it really that long ago?). It's now 11,000 words all told, but I still don't feel ready to post any more of it.

I've also, as I said yesterday, managed to finish the second draft of my penultimate Spike/Giles season 7 story. I've just made myself write the first few lines of the final story. I have this (no doubt mistaken) idea that I can in fact finish the whole thing for [livejournal.com profile] letsgetitdone.

No idea where this sudden writing spurt has come from. Hope it lasts a little longer.

In other writing news, I've started posting some of my longer Fag Ends fics on Ao3. So far, people seem to like them so I'm going to post some more.

Does anyone post drabbles on Ao3? I mean, real, actual drabbles, with only 100 words? I've written so many now (mostly for Fag Ends) and I like the idea of having them archived on Ao3 as well.

On the other hand, it also seems like a lot of faff.

What do you think?

you know, i'm old school, and so am surprised when i see 'smaller' works hosted at ao3. or like, prompt fills and the like. But people are doing it. It's a bit like eating cake in a library lol, but i think it's supposed to be mussed used as the ultimate repository?

*pompoms*

Yeah, I have drabbles on AO3. Not all of them. I think mostly via bulk import, which you could do with a load of Spuffy drabbles from fag ends, because fandom/character/relationship are all the same even if rating changes - not too fiddly.

Many people post drabbles or even Sherlock 60's in groups, rather than one at a time. I think they are kind of fun, especially if they have some sort of common theme, or can be arranged chronologically as a series.

I'd say go for it, for the sake of completion. Just do them in groups. Ten per post certainly wouldn't be onerous.

Hooray for writing! The Ten Years After story really did need to be continued! Very much so. And yay for Spike/Giles

Yes, I have drabbles posted - why not? It's nice when the mojo comes back.

¡Yay! Writing goodness! I'm all atwitter, though I'll be waiting patiently just over here.

I've put my drabbles up on AO3 under a linked "Psued" — rebshortcake — so that they are there but can be disregarded if I or a reader would like to keep them from cluttering up the place. People can look at one, the other, or both. The Spike/Dru drabbles are also all linked up under a "series" name, which is something you can decide to do later on. I'm all for having the work archived, though! Yes, please.

Would it be too much to request "Deja Vu" go up over there? It's one of my go-to fics about therapy/therapists. *\o/*

Well, I started writing in AotB before I finished "Altered States", so I never really had a period without something to work on in between. Most of the AotB stories are much shorter, and most don't follow on from each other in any systematic way, so it was easy just to write a little thing based on one episode. The canon is very small though, and I'm not an expert on the period who can pad it out with a lot of details of everyday life, so I am starting to dry up a bit now. It took me nearly a year to write my latest one. But I've had dramas to deal with which sucked the joy out of it a bit. The people referenced in this post were all part of my community, and caused me a lot of headaches. http://lsellersfic.livejournal.com/223640.html

As a pedant and completist from way back, I love to find people's whole body of work in AO3. I can then immerse myself in it, like I'm currently doing with ELG's work.

So I would say put everything there but then it's easy for me to say and a lot of work for you.

And yay! on the writing - long may it continue (as long as you're enjoying it)!

I still have no idea how many of them were actual people.

I do! The best thing about having a difficult name is that no one else ever tries to take it before I can.
