LJ problems

Okay, anyone else having problems with LJ? Since yesterday evening (UK time), I'm finding that pages are loading very slowly and sometimes refusing to load properly at all so graphics aren't displayed. The log in page in particular is very slow (I log in every time I open my browser, as others have access to my laptop).

I raised a support request with LJ yesterday but no reply so far. And oddly, if I access LJ through the link in my Yahoo! inbox to my support request, LJ loads quite quickly. If I go the ordinary route, it doesn't.

Meanwhile, both Downrightnow and Live Journal Status are reporting no service issues. And some people on my flist report no problems at all.

Any of you experiencing site slowness, or access problems that you weren't having before?

I was finding that it loaded slowly yesterday but is better today. I'm having a strange problem with icons as some now have a black border and some a white. On the white ones I can't see the usernames at all!

That sounds very similar to the problems I'm having. I'm now getting the weird icon borders too.

Well it seems OK with me at the moment, but I've only just logged on. No problems yesterday that I can recall, but I wasn't online during the evening.

Huh! I'm getting that problem now a bit too. Some icons have the user name underneath (the ones with a black border, as kathyh reports), some don't.

It has speeded up again slightly since I made my post, though.

But it does seem a lot of people are having various weird problems, so it's strange how Livejournal Status still says there are no site wide problems reported.

I've had to download Google Chrome to get into LJ at all, and I still have some problems.

Must be down to what server you're on I suppose. It's been speeding up and slowing down even while I've been trying to answer these comments.

The pages are loading quite slowly, but I'm never sure if that'e just my broadband during the day (and during half term when all the teenagers are illegally downloading stuff in houses around me!).

Pages are loading about the same as usual for me, but every time I go on my fl's the layout keeps changing colour, which is weird.

Several people are reporting that. Plus weird goings on with icons.

The site's loading fine for me from work, but I still can't see people's user names with their icons.

I noticed that it was very slow on the tablet last night. I had to switch to 'mobile' mode for them to load at all and that's not normal for me.

As I keep saying, I'm glad it's not just me, but if LJ are fiddling with things again, I wish they'd keep people informed.

My friends page keeps defaulting to the feed page, which suggests that they're finally making that the only option. (Goodbye individualized colors for each friend. *sob*)

Mine's much better today after many issues yesterday as well as not posting. I did change the style yesterday in desperation, but it didn't make any difference last night, so I've no idea if that made a difference.

No I wasn't. But the colours are now fixed.
