I'm going away for a few days on Thursday and am at K's all day tomorrow, so shall be around even less than usual for the next week.

Before I go, a few quick words about other TV stuff.

Brief spoilers behind cut for Legion season 2, Jessica Jones season 2 and Versailles season 3.

I watched the last episode of Legion season 2 on Sunday. I thought it was brilliant. In fact, I've thought the whole season was brilliant. Every image has been like a strange, surrealist painting. Like I said in a previous post (or possibly in a comment to someone), it's a more a work of art than a super-hero series. If you get down to the plot nitty-gritties, though, this season has felt very much like the middle part of a trilogy. I'm so glad (if surprised, the ratings were awful) it's been renewed.

I'm also enjoying what I've seen so far of the third (and final, Canal+ cancelled it, the rotters) season of Versailles. They're doing the Man in the Iron Mask. It's great (despite what that snotty critic in the Guardian said)!

As for Jessica Jones 2, I've managed to drag myself through eleven of the thirteen episodes and have pretty much given up on it. It's so boring! I'm sick to death of all the Jessica/Trish dramatics, and the ridiculous stuff about Jessica's mum. The only character I still like is Malcolm. I wish they'd give him his own series.

I suppose I'll make myself watch those last two episodes some time but they're pretty low on my list of priorities - well below clean the kitchen bin and empty the vacuum cleaner.

Still working my way through the Sense8 finale. Still loving it.

Have a good week, everyone.

I really really really hope that Hawley has a plan for 'Legion'. I kinda want season 3 to be the big finale and wrap it all up because I'm not sure how long they can sustain it. But that finale was epic.

LOL actually I know pretty much nothing beyond a very basic google search I did when I first started watching the show, then promptly stopped to avoid accidental spoilers. :) So I don't really know much of his real backstory.

I couldn't get into JJ S2 and gave up. It just didn't grab me.

Legion...I liked the educational bits and the whole bit about madness, it sticks very close to the original comics, but...I didn't care about anyone but David Haller and Lenny was the only other character who sparked. Everyone else felt like they were being perceived from under water ...which I can't help but think was deliberate? Pacing slow, but educational bits brilliant. (Note it's been renewed due to critical acclaim and well it's attracting an audience that buys high end products. We're not based on ratings, we're based on ad dollars. Ratings really don't matter as much as you think they do. What the advertisers think matters for broadcast cable series like Legion.)

* Haven't seen Sense 8 yet, I'm sort of saving it for another long weekend. Where I can binge watch in happy abandon.

You lasted longer with Jessica than I did. I got two episodes in, haven't gone back yet and probably won't. I lost patience with it near the end of S1 but thought it might be better with a different plot in S2. But I just wasn't enjoying it. I agree about Malcolm.

I thought Legion had a strong finale but mentioned before I found the season dragged. I tried out an episode of Versailles a while back but just never got around to watching more due to a full TV schedule. Glad to hear it will be worth pursuing though as it's still in my queue.

I've been watching Humans' 3rd season and the early episodes have been almost too painful to bear. We'll probably get caught up on Expanse tonight.

Life is important :)

I'm glad they're enjoying it. It seems to me this series is one of the most timely there is right now in terms of cultural conversations.
