Oct. 23rd, 2009 10:56 amCan anyone explain to me how you look something up on the Wayback Machine? I suddenly realised that it's only a few days until Geocities goes down for good and I wanted to check whether or not Sabre Shadowkitten's Spike fanfic site had been archived.

There's two different search methods. You can search for the actual website by putting in the old/archived url in the "web" one with the "take me back" button, or you can type in a keyword in the search box up top. You can use the drop down to see which specific section to search in, or just search everything.
I don't know Sabre's url so I can't search that, but I did try her name in the keyword search and she didn't come up. Doh!

Date: 2009-10-23 01:02 pm (UTC)I'm quite glad geocities is going down, it will neatly clear up a few sites that have my fic without me having to try to trace the owners. Including SS for that matter cos she pinched a bastardised and incomplete copy of Giving Him the Moon years ago, which as far as I can recall she never had permission for but I could be wrong and it has been there so long I can never raise the energy to complain.

Date: 2009-10-26 03:25 pm (UTC)I have no idea who Charles V Barrett is either, and since one of my stories is on Spanking Spike and no one asked me first, I won't be sorry to see that bit go.
