Nov. 19th, 2009 07:05 pmBecause the end of my
noel_of_spike story still wants to kill me, here's another one for you, though this time we've come back round into fandom territory.
We all know what Angel looked like in the 70s (a lot of us wish we didn't, and I bet the day he set eyes on the mullet wig was one of the ones when DB did his famous set your eyes on the finish line and just go for it thing), and of course we all know that Spike was a punk (what else could he have been?), but pre-1975/6, what would he have done to keep his rebel credentials intact? Was he into glam rock, prog rock or even disco?
I think he would have adored Ziggy Stardust personally, but maybe that's just because I do? Thoughts, anyone?
Also, Dru as a punk with her hair like Siouxsie's? Yes? No?

Date: 2009-11-19 10:33 pm (UTC)Basically, the whole sequence was a by-product of a story where post-Season 6/post-souling Spike was holed-up in London rather than returning to Sunnydale. He ran across the human woman who had introduced him to punk. There was then a flashback to the 1970s where Spike was wasting time, cooling his heels after Dru had gone off in a huff, temporarily living in a cheap (abandonned) flat and ended up meeting two siblings living in the flat below. The girl mocked him for listening to Morrison and being out of touch, and, out of boredom, the siblings intoduced him to early punk music (1976 or 77. I forget). Then Dru came home and murdered the girl's entire family including her brother. Spike did nothing to stop her (He was just happy to have Dru back)but he did step aside to allow the girl to escape.) Souled-Spike then ran across the woman post-Season 6 and she's a strung-out heroine addict with issues (who eventually comitted suicide in the story). Okay, it was sort of dark. Still, I had some fun with the Pere Lachaise graveyard sex. >:)
