More True Blood season 2
May. 22nd, 2010 11:32 pmYes, I'm galloping through this way too fast. Better slow down.
Today, I watched eps two and three and uploaded a few new icons.
Slight spoilers behind cut.
Still enjoying it enormously. I think I might be a bit of a Bill/Sookie 'shipper. Does this mean that I have to burn my Spuffy 'shipper card and start 'shipping Bangel?
No seriously, I do enjoy their banter, and the fact that dear old Bill is such a stick-in-the-mud (in a nice way), and I love the addition of Jessica to the mix. Am definitely a Hoyt/Jessica 'shipper. That only took one scene. He is such a sweetie, and so is she, even if she is a vampire.
All the rest is good too, though I'm not terribly interested in Maryann as yet, have to admit, though the scene where Sookie reads her thoughts and she's thinking in Greek was very chilling. She's Circe, isn't she? Seems a little odd and out of place. Is she a character from the original books or has Alan Ball (?)nicked the concept from Neil Gaiman's American Gods?
In other news, I just had a timely reminder of how unsophisticated we were back in the 1970s compared to now. Watched the songs from the famous old Bollywood movie, Sholay - the film that made Amitabh Bachchan a superstar. The first song (Yeh Dosti) is the slashiest thing I've seen in years, yet I'm pretty sure that never would have occurred to me back then, any more than it would to the makers of the movie.
In other, other news, I quite enjoyed today's Doctor Who. Nobody on my flist seems to have mentioned it yet. Did no one like it except me?

As for Bill/Sookie, I know it peters out in the books, but I'm sure I remember Alan Ball saying it would continue to be an important factor in the show, and with Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin being an actual couple, might it make it awkward to pair Sookie off with other characters, if they're going to do as many sex scenes as Bill and Sookie do?
I suppose that shouldn't matter. After all, they're actors.
